that there'll be one single currency (money) for the entire world?

I remember hearing about this and other things and I just can't come up with anybody else corraborating it now. Some religious groups that did belief and preach this have gone back on their word now.

Can anyone tell me what's going on with this?

You are describing the anti-christ and his one world government system. It is described perfectly in Revelation and Daniel and many denominatrions and evangelicals believe it to be true.

I don't think there is any one group in Christanity who preached that.

They're more like a bag of mixed nuts.

Hopefully none of them.

Christians don't believe that this world is the one to live for. We await the next one.

It is the great ecumenical movement, where groups are less and less attached to truths of scripture, and more and more influenced by each other.

They're still hopeful.

Evangelicals believe this will signal the end of the world that they are all hoping will happen.

I think they are weird and dangerous.

Anyone that believes the Bible believes this.
Some that did go back on this, did so because they went liberal and began doubting the Bible.
