Wow! Look at all those misinformed people about JWs! We r not a cult but live by the bible. We believe that Jehovah is God(Psalms 83:18), Jesus is His Son(Matthew 16:16) and we expect God's Kingdom to solve all of our problem(Matthew 6:9,10). Notice that we use the scriptures to back up our statements! We recognize the hyprocrisy in other religions and will use the bible to dispel all myths, lies and slander.
We knock on doors because Jesus instructs us to at Matthew 24:14, Matthew 28:19,20 and Acts 20:20. We do so at responsible hours when people are home. We are your neighbors, workmates, schoolmates and relatives. We live peaceably, pay our taxes and give our employers an honest day work. Yet we are persecuted(Luke 6:22,23). Hitler killed thousands in the concentrations camps. We are banned in dozens of countries because of our allegiance to God.
So if people wanna spew out untrues about us, we expect it. Just get your facts correct!

My parents are. I went my seperate way once I turned 18. I attended their meetings since I was 2, so I can say that they're NOT a cult.
A cult is a religion that doesn't allow outsiders to know of the goings-on within the walls of their meeting places. The Scientologists are a cult. The Davidians (absolved) were a cult. Any sect that is small in membership, exclusive in membership, and secretive... is a cult. If a meeting is public, and if new members are trying to be gained through door-to-door activity... that is not a cult.

I studied with them for over 10 years, went to meetings regularly for a couple of years. They truly believe in the bible and constantly study and learn everything about it, which they consider a lifetime of learning. They want to make sure that they follow Gods word as best as they can. I am not saying and I don't think they are saying that they have it exactly right. But they try and I believe that they are sincere people who truly want to do the best they can to help those who want to learn about God and Jesus. The bible offers a lot of food for thought. It is not easy being a believer in this day and age, but if you have an open mind you really could learn so much and then make up your own mind.

I ask her does it hurt feelings if someone want take it or just slams the door in face and I've seen some houses put signs on their door, "No Jehovah's Witnesses, don't borrow to knock. She said it made them feel good because they know their going to heaven and your not, that is strange thing to say to someone. She worked for the City and wouldn't sign a paper that she would take arms for her country.

Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians. They are the only ones who study the Bible daily with a sincere and humble heart. Also, they are the only ones who listen to what Jesus said to his disciples which is to spread the good news of the Kingdom.
"Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit." -- Matthew 28:19
"And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come." -- Matthew 24:14
They are characterized by a sincere and deep love that they feel towards their God, Jehovah and their brothers and sisters. They also show love to people by talking to them about what the Bible really teaches. Actually, this is how Jesus said that their disciples will be recognised.
"I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves." -- John 13:34,35

Jehovah's Witnesses are great! They are one of the few religions that will actually discuss their beliefs and practices and when they do that they have to research the way their religion started. And when they do that they stop being Jehovah's Witnesses!!! LOL

I'm not because I don't believe what they believe. I don't think they are a cult, I do think they come off that way because they are 100% committed to what they believe and know it inside and out. It would be nice if everyone was as committed to what they claim to believe instead of being all wishy washy and following the crowd everywhere. Are they right , I don't know, but I think one day we will all find out we didn't know as much as we thought we did.

Jehovah's witnesses are a cult. They believe that only 144,000 people are going to heaven, and you must work really hard to be one of the 144,000. If someone is a Jehovah's witness, it does not mean they are a bad person, only that they have been mislead. In fact, Jehovah's witnesses are extremely kind, as they must "work" to get to heaven. That is why they spend so much time going door to door.

I'm a Christian but not a Jehovah's witness.I believe that they are good Christian who have some beliefs that i disagree with.. They don't believe that the Holy Spirit is a person for one thing, and i disagree with that. Jesus, on more than one occasion when speaking of the Holy spirit called him he, so that tells me he is a person. They don't believe one should accept blood transfusion, and i disagree with that. God gave us modern medicine and doctors so if a blood transfusion is what one needs to save ones life i believe one should accept it.. All blood is under the curse, that's why Jesus in order for Him to be completely pure even the body he is in, his body could not be fathered by any man's body since we all have the blood of Adam running through our veins. They don't believe in the trinity neither do i in that term but i do believe the Godhead is tripartite, the company of three...Three in One or One in Three....Jesus said "I'm in my Father and My Father is in me, meaning I'm in union or total agreement with my Father and my Father is in total with me.. And the Holy Spirit is from God, He is Gods Holy spirit..We are all from God and we are all persons, So is the Holy Spirit a person and He gets his direction directly from God just as Jesus did when he walked the earth....So what i think of the Jehovah's witness is that they are good Christians who are confused in some areas as are we all...They are my brothers and sisters in Christ I personally know many..But all true Christian spread the Gospel, they are not the only ones who do that. They are not even the only ones who go door to door to do it...

I LOVE Jehovah's Witnesses, they are kind, compassionate and usually intelligent.
But most of all they are good listeners.
They used to come to my door to discuss God, etc, but lately I found out that I have been blackballed by them...
I guess because I now have three ex-Jehovah's witnesses that are members of my Atheist Meetup Group.
I like JW's because they are open to my questions about their faith and that they actually think about them.
Plus, they are "convertible!"
