Where do you believe heaven is? Is it in the sky? and if so, how far into the sky? Why is it that so many of you don't realize that their is a universe out there billions and billions of light years big that keeps expanding? There is scientific evidence to prove it. Pictures ,information, and data from the Hubble telescope. Astrophysicicists who do studies showing the big bang theory is most likely correct. Do you believe that heaven is a place at the end of the universe or within it? Also, where is Hell then? When I was little I believed in God, Heaven, and Hell.... then I grew up and realized that it didn't make any sense because earth is not the only planet. How do you guys make sense of it all. Do you think hell is at the core of the earth or something? If so, why do you think this planet is so special? And please don't quote the bible. I want to know what you guys really think.

Heaven is a realm not observable or measurable by man or his instruments. You say that the universe was created from nothing, correct? Well, that nothing is something that you call nothing because you cannot measure or detect it. Spirit, although not detectable by means of scientific method or instrumentation, is a very real, powerful, and substantial thing. It is not of the same substance as matter or the energy we can measure; but it is substantial.

OK, much like we have radio and other waves all around us right now yet we can't see them and would not know they were even there unless we had something that could record or sense them, what if Heaven is all around us, but it is phase shifted to a dimension that we can't see, hear, or record with any of our 3 dimensional recording devices or human senses? There are so many things we don't know, that it would be difficult to tell you where heaven and hell is? MAYBE God created the ENTIRE universe only for this very conversation? Would it matter to someone who had unlimited resources and could do ANYTHING? Don't limit yourself to human limitations and thoughts. I think that is why the bible always says, his ways are not our ways...

There is a Japanese fable about the difference between heaven and hell. Picture Hell as a sumptuous banquet with the very best foods. but everyone is starving because the chopsticks are too long (they can get the food to their ears but not their mouths) Picture Heaven with the same banquet, the same food, the same chopsticks. The difference is that the people are feeding each other. The point is that the attraction of Heaven is not the location but the people that you get to hang with.

To me (a Christian), Heaven and Hell are obviously not physical places, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a Christian who would honestly tell you that they were. I believe that Heaven and Hell are of the spirit world, nowhere physical, nowhere you can locate them. When you are young, Heaven and Hell are explained as physical places because you can't explain the metaphysical realm to a child - they can't wrap their head around those kinds of abstract thoughts. So you tell them, Hell is below you, Heaven is above you. As you get older and can grasp those kind of ideas, you realize that Heaven is not a physical place but a spiritual one, as is Hell. I don't believe there is an Atheist anywhere who would say they don't have a soul, and the soul has to go somewhere when you die. Science tells us that - energy is neither created, nor destroyed.

Heaven is a real place. It is beyond the universe. In the bible it describes it as the 3rd heaven. The atmosphere around the earth was considered the 1st heaven, the universe with its galaxies was the 2nd heaven, and beyond the universe is the 3rd heaven- where God is on His throne. It is a real place, which everyone will realize eventually. For some, it will not be where they spend eternity. For those who have accepted Jesus as Saviour, it will be

i think it's in the sky, and how should i know how far up it is?! =) i've always pictured it as just in the clouds and you could see everything that goes on on the ground.
i believe in the big bang theory, chill out.
and i think hell is everything that you've ever feared or hated doing, all rapped up into one for all eternity. (for example, if i were to end up there, i'd probably forced to be a prostitute and shovel dirt and carry Sheetrock.)
i'm not sure how i make sense of it all, but i do think that there is a higher power (or being) that drives the universe, and whatever happens to my life is my choice, but i have a feeling i'll be either rewarded or punished for it.
=)

Don't dump me into that bag
go to www.reasons.org and meet scientists that know Jesus and know the cosmos is expanding, and the big bang, and the billions of years . . . you just haven't been exposed to these people . . .
really! read their articles, search their web site
I'm reading a book, presently by Hugh Ross (president of RTB - the 'reasons' web site) that presents a testable model approach to Creation as Science.
To answer your question . . Heaven may be in a different dimension . . . it may be in a place beyond space and time . . . we have not found it in this cosmos. . . we do not know the answer to your question . . .

Heaven and hell on the opposite ends of the universe. Maybe not even in our universe. Maybe planets. Maybe there are other universes expanding just like our. In other words...I really don't know...

"Heaven" as in where the Almighty lives is the middle star of the sword of Orion. See the pictures from Hubble. There was a series in NG some years back. Hell is the purifying fire in which sin and sinners are destroyed so the Messiah YAHOSHUA can make all things new.

I think Heaven in technically up. Not in the universe, but in the clouds. I think there is a rift that angels travel through and then they go to a big land they stay at for the rest of eternity.
