I have made a stew with beef stew meat, fresh garlic, chopped onion, lots of finely shredded green cabbage, sliced potatoes and beef stock. There's also some chopped parsley. It still needs to be seasoned. Any ideas?

I put 2 to 3 whole bay leafs in my stew as well as oregano and basil. I'd put a little salt in there as well as some pepper. Do you have any celery salt or celery seed? I'd even add a little more garlic and onions, but I would saute them first in a tiny bit of olive oil and dump all of that in there.

How long are you letting it sit? I usually let mine sit for 2 hours or so to let all the flavors blend.

1 teaspoon dried rosemary and 1 teaspoon dried thyme would spiffy it up.

You might want to add Some chicken or beef broth for flavor or maybe a can of tomatoes and a couple carrots.

Gravy Master, Kitchen Bouquet, or just Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup will finish it. Next time, start with cheap red wine like Cabernet or Merlot, instead of water.
