The answer is, of course, yes.
It is interesting that most folks who profess Christianity will agree that they should not worship idols, have any other god before God, take God's name in vain, commit adultery, murder someone, lie, cheat, steal, covet their neighbor's stuff......
but absolutely reject the LAW, the Commandment, that one specific day in the 7 day week belongs to the Creator God as per His instructions at the time of man's creation, and restated at Mt Sinai.
Edit: Julia D: Read the Commandment, on what fact does it base it's authority?
Edit: Hogie, as usual, long on opinion short on proof.
1John 2:3 And by this we may be certain that we have knowledge of him, if we keep his laws.
4 The man who says, I have knowledge of him, and does not keep his laws, is false, and there is nothing true in him:(BBE)...........3:4 Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.(ASV)
3:22 And he gives us all our requests, because we keep his laws and do the things which are pleasing in his eyes. 24 He who keeps his laws is in God and God is in him. And the Spirit which he gave us is our witness that he is in us.....5:2 In this way, we are certain that we have love for the children of God, when we have love for God and keep his laws. 3 For loving God is keeping his laws: and his laws are not hard.
(BBE)
2John 1:6 And love is the keeping of his laws. This is the law which was given to you from the first, so that you might keep it.(BBE)

the thought that we are able to worship as we might prefer to and stay in accordance to OUR very own information is non secular suicide! between the justifications that Elohyim gave us the commandments replaced into to work out if we might settle for His will in our lives. He gave us, Jew and gentiles alike considering the fact that we are grafted into the abode of Jacob (all the tribes, no longer purely some.), the thought-approximately residing lives which have been distinctive from the the remainder of the international and intensely unique. those have been genuinely a marriage settlement to His people! If we chosen to stay by ability of His thought then he will shop His element of the settlement and settle for us into His abode. The Sabbath is the 1st element of that contractor. If we settle for the Sabbath then he will show extra of Himself to us. If we chosen to no longer settle for the Sabbath then He won't pass any further in pursuing us as a bride (spiritually conversing). The Sabbath replaced into an illustration between Yah and the youngsters of Israel for EVER. This sign isn't purely for Judah, yet all the tribes of Israel. If we chosen to forget relating to the commandments then we do chosen which god we serve, that's no longer inevitably the Elhyim of Israel the two. devil is describes because of the fact the guy of lawlessness. chosen which course you will persist with intently. The Torah consequences in existence, the different course consequences in destruction!

The Sabbath day wasn't given to you unless you are a Jew. It's a sign of the Covenant between God and the Jews. Not God and the non-Jews. That's what it says, read it. And no, you aren't "grafted in" there isn't any such thing.
So keep any day you like for your day of rest, it doesn't matter, because it won't be counted as actually keeping the Sabbath by God unless you're a Jew.
EDIT: ProDigit, that story about the sheep in the ditch is pure trash. It has always, always been the law that the Sabbath may be broken in order to save a life. Jesus didn't invent it, and the lies that are attributed to Jesus where he is railing against the Pharisees who supposedly wouldn't save a life are just that - lies. The term for saving a life is Pikuey Nefesh, and it comes before anything, including the Sabbath, and it applied equally to human beings and animals alike.
We are to feed our animals BEFORE we feed ourselves, as a further example of how we are to treat animals - certainly no Jew would have left the sheep in a ditch. This would have been a chillul hashem (desecration of God) rather than a blessing. Also, the Pharisees were not corrupt. The Sadducees were. Again, the new testament lies - repeatedly - about this. It's pretty disgusting. But not unexpected by an entity (the Church) which was trying to foster hatred for Jews as well as keep its followers from going to learn from the Jews rather than the Church.

Technically, yes; but I don't recommend adopting the Old Testament punishment (which is death). Israel is the only nation with actual secular laws regarding the Sabbath; but even they don't kill people for violating them.
In some places there are still 'blue laws' which prohibit certain activities on Sunday (which isn't the proper Sabbath but that's another debate). Most of these have been repealed either due to First Amendment issues or simply because they were unpopular.

It could only be lawless for one under the law.
Christians are not only not under the law, they are not under sin either.
That covenant ended, and all the requirements to observe it.
You were never a party to that covenant anyway. Paul refers to it as the ministration of death and condemnation.
Why people then choose that over what leads to life is interesting, until you realize just how easy it is do deceive people into believing lies.
But you're not deceived, right? You studied all the methods and techniques used to deceive people, right? You're too smart to be deceived, right? All the Bible scholars out there; all the theologians who have spent their entire lives studying the Bible are wrong, and you, who probably have no background in biblical scholarship are right....

It is not!
Even though God has given seasons to everyone, everyone is depending on different seasons.
It might be that you do'nt need to go to,church every 7 but you do need to go every 8 or 9 days...
Everyone's different, and it's upto you to find out when you need church and when not.
think about Jesus and the story of the sheep that falls into a dich on the sabbath day, and how he tells the pharisees that they would not take it out?

We must be careful not to judge. But...
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
