you have already taken the video off of your camera and its saved somewhere? How is it saved (what is the file extension?) If it is a .wmv file it shouldn't be a problem, but my guess is that its a file that your moviemaker doesn't recognize and I have had this problem before... if I remember right, you have to go into moviemaker and change the settings to accept all types of files (its called something obscure and I don't remember) soorrry! Someone will likely answer and give you the exact wordage... you can also type your problem into google and probably find others who had the same problem (I think thats how I figured it out) Good luck-

try not opening it in windows movie maker.
plug it in and open "COMPUTER" and an icon that may have a camera, USB, or some little picture should be there, indicating that your camera is plugged in. (It will be like E:/) click on that and there should be only one or two files, try opening both, all the way, sometimes the pictures are in more than one file, sometimes they are all in one, but you have to open three to get to them. if that doesn't work, then maybe they are just getting "displaced" to somewhere you don't know on your machine.
good luck!

movie maker only works with certain files, when you get into the import video and look for the file to click it, right below the file name text box should be a drop down menu, click all files. you may need to install a codec, just search "codec download" on google, it might be a MOV file, so download quicktime.
