God gave us the free gift of salvation through his son Jesus Christ so that we can give freely to others using his example.
And since the Jews were giving gifts during Hanukka, a eight day Jewish holiday, gentiles and heathens and the unchosen ones felt left out and created the 12 days of christmas song so they could feel worthy like the jews.
