Hello, I am a trucker and Part time longshoreman. Its very easy to ship your car. You can use U.S.Ship.com and after viewing that site and you are not satisfied then call Pacific Coast Containers they can help also. Try any container services and they will tell you to go to a broker that ships....easy to do.
Companies get the container, then your vehicle is driven in blocked and braced. Then inspected by the Coast Guard and homeland security.

We have shipped many cars to foreign countries and the rules are all different, so you should contact the Mexican Embassy closest to where you live for specific requirements for your situation. I know for us, we had to own the vehicle for a certain amount of time before shipping, and a whole bunch of other crap that was a pain! Good luck-

Your best bet is to not ship the entire car- ship part of it declared as scrap (which saves you LOT in import fees!), and put it back together back here and get a salvage title for it. I'm trying to find the right VW Bug for just such a maneuver...

Leave the keys in it in southern California with the doors unlocked, it'll wind up there in Mexico eventually.

Motor car manuals are too formulaic. I'd change the oil - according to their specifications. But I'd do it at one half of their suggested mileage. Only costs you a few dollars, and can't do anything but good.
