I have a close friend who says she was scared of the thought of an old man creeping into her bedroom at night (Santa), so her Dad told her not to worry, that he would wait up, and take the presents from Santa, and that he would place them in her bedroom himself.
Of course now she cannot understand why he didn't just tell her the truth, which would have been a huge relief to her, but I suppose maybe it was to keep the fairytale going for her younger siblings.
Anyway, assuring him that you will wait up for Santa and won't let him into the house should do the trick :-) Tell him lots of parents do this to save him time, and he will be pleased not to have to come all the way indoors ;-)

If he is over the age of 6 just explain that he isnt real. But make him promise he wont go ruining other little 6 year olds christmasses by telling them 2!!

4 things that you can do
1. Tell him Santa isn't real(don't if he's under 7)
2. Let it pass and tell him not to be afraid. It's normal for many kids to be afraid at that age
3. Convert to Buddhism

Tell him the truth then and maybe he wont be so afraid...and when you tell him about all the Jesus stuff be sure to point out that Christ , if he were alive, would be Sickened to see us wallowing in sin for his "birthday" every year...
