She is making sure you know she is boss. I love pitbulls but you need to see a trainer and make sure she becomes submissive to you. Other wise we will be seeing you on the news someday.

Get a trainer. Now. If she is the least bit aggressive now, it will only get worse. I have a nice scar on my face from giving a lab (not mine)a kiss who is food aggressive.
You need to pet her, especially her ears and feet when she is relaxing as well as when she is eating. Once she is used to you doing this, take her food away, make her sit, and then give it back to her. Our vet told us to do this with Willie (our Chocolate lab) and this dog tolerates anything and everyone. Anyone can take his food away and he will sit and let us cuddle him while he waits for it back.
You don't want to have an aggressive dog on your hands, especially a pit bull whose breed has a bad reputation to begin with. It is all in how you train a dog. It should be done with patience and kindness. Your local humane society should have a list of reputable trainers to contact. Expensive at first, but cheaper than a lawsuit should she bite someone. My cousin has pit bulls, so I have known a few, and they are the greatest dogs. They need good, consistent training.

Because when it's older it won't just growl at people it'll just attack them.I used to think it was people that made pit's and rottie's bad and mean. Then my fiance and i owned one and loved and treated it good.Taught it to be obedient and all. Then the growling started at strangers when we walked him.Next it was anyone who came into our home. Then he started growling at me and acting kinda weird. The vet said he was fine. Then he bit me 3 or 4 times and i wanted to get rid of him.He bit my mom who was a diabetic and he knew her.The last straw was when he ran and jumped and attacked me.He kept biting me and i turned onto my back but he grabbed the back of my neck and bit down hard and started shaking me like a rag doll.Thank god my fiance is a big strong guy cause i couldn't stop the dog.I'm okay now but i'd never own a pit or rottie again and anyone who does look out they do turn on owners who love them!

some people mistake the disposition of pit bulls. when there playing it can seem very aggressive to people who are not familiar with this breed.there great companions if given the chance to socialize and lots of love of course!most people have a idea that once the get this cute little puppy it should automatically behave the way you want.its your responsibility to work with her.give her a chance.

It could be bc you haven't socialized it with people, it could be bad breeding, it could be bc of previous history of prior owners if it was adopted, or it could be lack of training and the dog thinks it's the boss.
Definetely get it into training
Thats too bad ernie! My pit mix kisses on command! lol Its so cute and he's really sweet, sorry you will never know their loyalty bc of your attitude. :0)

She's trying to tell you she wants things on her terms. She's very young to be starting that. Please take her to an obedience class before you end up with a B****.

is your dog around food it likes or a favorite toy?
if a dog doesnt entirely trust someone and they are around something like food or a toy they might think you are trying to take it away.
or maybe it just doesnt like the person?
:]
lol sorry but yeah
