God, because of His Divine Providence, forbid the Jews from eating unclean animals (including pork) - probably because of the danger of trichinosis. But that was during and after the time of Moses. The events of Noah anh gis ark occured long before Moses.

However, even by the time of Christ, mankind had advanced enough to understand proper food handling and cooking that trichinosis was no longer the threat it was 1,500 years previous.

In Acts, the early Apostles argued about whether pork would be acceptable to eat and, as you can read, it is.

Also, your question reminds me of one of my favorite Simpson's quotes:
Homer: Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute. Lisa honey, are you
saying you're *never* going to eat any animal again? What about
bacon?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad! Those all come from the same animal!
Homer: [Chuckles] Yeah, right Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

In Noah's time there was no department of agriculture nor was there a surgeon general to inform anyone that pork is bad. Most likely the pork in those times were more nutritious than the chemical ingested stuffed hogs we get nowadays.

Noah already knew about Yahweh's clean and unclean food laws many centuries before Yahweh had to write them out for Moses in Leviticus chapter 11. Even though we are not to eat certain animals because of disease prevention reasons they were still important to save from extinction from the flood. Maybe not for mankind but to eat as food but for other meat eating wild animals. It only doesn't make sense to those who don't understand Yahweh's scientific knowledge of disease prevention in the modern human who He designed. And by the way the pig will always be unhealthy for us to eat no matter what our human scientists say.

Following how God instructs sometimes makes no sense to others. That does not make a difference to God, nor to you and your food choices.

I see lots of good answers here.

And, speaking of Simpson Movie all I could sing for days was the song Homer sang, spiderpig spiderpig does whatever a spiderpig does..... and I detested the movie!

Pork represents unclean. We are to clean up our thinking and follow where God is leading. That is individual to each person.

I have a suspicion that alot of us are going to be surprised when we "get there" to see who we are in company with.

alot of people don't know this but there was not just 2 of kind on the ark. there were 7 of the clean and 2 of the unclean. gen 7:2. God made some animals to clean of all the mess of garbage, dead animals and so forth. even dr. tell you not to eat it because it gives you high blood pressure. plus the fact that Jesus never eat it. and that Jesus casted the evil demons into the pigs and Jesus don't like to waste food. he fed the 5,000 then when they all eat they picked up 12 baskets left and fed them to the poor. i hope this helps.

Noah put the animals on the ark to save them from the flood in order for that type of animal to be alive today.

I think you may be thinking of Islam-

and if that is the case, Noah did not exist in Islam......unless Mohammad went on an Ark

God told Noah to put so many of each kind of animal on the ark. That's why he did it. it had nothing to do w/ them being clean vs. unclean animals. they didn't eat the animals while on the ark!
