Just for that annoying ad, I'll never shop at GAPs again, even though I haven't for years because of their overseas sweat shops exploiting children working 12 hrs a day for $2 a day. But why doens't Yahoo take down that stupid ad just out of courtesy to its ranting members who hate the thing?

Oh GOD I HATE that thing AND those two people! It is HORRIBLE and you can't get rid of it! It is a disgrace and the worst ad gimmick I've ever seen or heard. Screw the Gap; MUCH better stores everywhere and cheaper too.

That GAP AD is so annoying! I found a way to get rid of it! If you download and run Firefox as your browser, there is an add on program you can install which will make it disappear totally off your page.

Simply do a search for Firefox then for the Firefox add on called Adblock. (I tried putting in the links but got a 999 message from Yahoo.)

Once you install both of those, look down in the very bottom right hand corner of your screen where you will see: Adblock. Click on it then disable the second item up from the very bottom of the list. (At least that what worked for me.)

Also, you can write an e-mail to Gap and let them know what you think about their obnoxious, senseless advertisement:

"gap.com Customer Service"

Even though there is a contract with Gap and Yahoo, this ad is going to reflect neg on their advertising dollar budget. Look how many are avoiding the site so they DONT have to hear the ad. My pop up stopper updated and I dont get it anymore. BUT I WONT SHOP AT GAP NOW *didnt before either *.... annoying.

I'm sure it's because Gap paid Yahoo! a certain amount of money to run the ad. Try downloading AdBlock Plus for Firefox. I haven't even seen the ad.

I was listening to a radio program online the other night and I kept hearing these voices talking over the program. I wondered why the host didn't tell whoever it was to shut up! LOL..I finally figured out it was this stupid Gap ad running on another browser page I had opened.

I've emailed Gap as well. One of the worst ads ever.

I AGREE....BIG TIME......I actually went to bed early and stopped answering questions because of the Gap ad, and I will start not being a party to YAHOO ANSWERS, if this sort of advertising prevails....I also will not shop at the Gap if they insist on annoying us.....

Um... cuz the Gap paid, and yahoo is now under contract.

Duh.

I mean, it's a done deal, and no amount of bitching will change it (though yahoo or the Gap may choose not to renew.)

Yahoo is all about the activity to advertising dollar ratio. Why else do you think all this stuff is free?

There are too many websites with sounds now; I keep my sound switched off totally unless I want to watch a video or listen to internet radio. When surfing/browsing I've kept my speakers turned off ever since banner ads with sound started to appear. Try it, it makes life much nicer & quiet!

Most of us use Yahoo for free. They have to make money somehow and they do that with advertising. GAP ad = money.

Click on the little white icon, in the lower left of the picture. It'll shut the sound off.
