Does anyone know how I can remove my name from the voter registration roll? I keep getting jury duty summons and the reason why is because I'm registered to vote and that is how this court randomly select the names. I want to be taken off the registration roll. Please reply if you know how. Thanks.

Don't vote in two successive general elections. That usually gets you deleted from the rolls. You can also petition the level of government which has jurisdiction over that court system (like county supervisors or city council) for a redress of your grievance under the First Amendment of the Constitution. Use all of the various methods available to you as a citizen to shirk a prime responsibility of being a citizen. Sounds like the growing "norm" to me.

I'm glad you asked the question. I want to get off the voter registration files because I don't want to be called for mandatory jury duty in the State of Maryland. Jury Duty is frightening. I can do without all of that drama in my life. Its just not worth it.

Contact your Election Commission and ask them to take your name off of their Voter Registration files. Then call your local magistrate court and ask them to take you off of their files.

I dont think you can, you just have to put up with it but if you keep getting called up have a word with your local courts and see what they say.

So you are mad about being called to perform your civic duty so you want to stop doing another civic duty??? Sounds like a win-win for the rest of us.

You would have to move or say you moved. Tell the truth because they will find out anyway. If you move, don't register.
