i know it's not consistent with our rudementary calender year, but tis the reason for the season.

did you think it was anything else?

where did this logic come from?

i understand seperating the months by the moon cycles, but by what logic does is signal a new year? by my standards, we have reached a turning point when the days begin to lengthen.

the new year should be marked by the earth's relation to the sun, noth the earth's relation to the moon.

the solstice is the logical new year.

The new year begins with the new moon after the vernal equinox, so you are a bit early.
