I have read the entire New Testament, and keep threatening myself to read the old as well.

QUANTITY does not count. QUALITY is the key word.
Anyone can READ an entire BIBLE or ENCYCLOPEDIA but how well has that person RETAINED the knowledge or meaning of what was read.
That's one of the main reasons each BOOK in the Bible has a central teaching aspect. LUKE has much teaching on WOMEN. MARK is different yet also covers women.
You should be contemplating WHAT you are reading more than concerned about HOW MANY PAGES you have read.
I admire anyone who takes the time to READ the Bible. I am sure some of the lessons will stick on that gray matter between the ears. Good luck and keep it up.

I am still doing it and get a deeper meaning of the Word of Truth every time I go through it. My mom and dad had devotion with us ever since I could remember. We would read through the Word of God and reread it until we got grown and on our own. I too read the Word in the same manner with my children, coupled with going to Church and Bible Study. We have much to learn. When we are up on one point, we are down on another. The Bible is ever Living and can never all be consumed in this life. It is continual because we sin but God change NOT. We are being conformed to the Will of God if we let Him while we read this instruction book.

I have- two times and 75% of the way through the 3rd. Some of the books in the Old Testament are tough to get through. I set a goal of two chapters a day. I believe that the tediousness of the books like Chronicles and Numbers teaches me about the drudgery of life in those days.

Yes I did and if you take 5 minutes everyday reading the bible you can finish it cover to cover by the end of 1 year.

January First I will go through both again for the 10th. year in a row.
I started that habit years ago with a Bible my sister gave me, and have used a different version almost every year.
Has been a blessing! I LOVE to read Genesis and Revelation over and over!!!

Yes, I have read the New Revised Standard Version, and the New World Translation, from cover to cover. Both were enjoyable.
I have read large chunks of upwards of 35 other english translations as well. And currently am working on my own translation of the New Testament into English.

I read a few parts, but I have found most of the Bible to be as beneficial as reading another spiritually enlightening or reflective book.
