Joshua 10:12-13
Then spoke Joshua to the lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, "Sun stand thou still upon Gibeon and thou, Moon in the valley of Ajalon."
And the sun stood still and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Joshua? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down the whole day.
We live in a heliocentric universe. The Sun does not move. If Joshua was realy inspired by the forces that created the universe he should have said, "Earth be thou still". This proves to me the god religion was created by ancient men during the time when people were beheaded for suggesting the Earth revolved around the Sun. Does it not suggest the same for you?

"Prove that it does not move." I can't believe educated Christian appologists are actually using this. Of course, the galaxy is spining, and the sun moves as the galaxy spins. But this has absolutely no bearing on the sun's relationship with this planet.
Although, I would have said in the question that we live in a heliocentric solar system, which is the only reference that we need for telling Earthly time (i.e., day, night, hours...)

I am only going to consider the facts you have stated. The only thing this proves is that people do not document things accurately. God probably spoke from inside Joshua's own head. Joshua told it to people as he understood it. Then someone wrote it down. How does it imply that god asked the sun and the moon to stand. The effect implies god only meant for the day to remain till the battle was over.
Just like the earth centric idea was wrong so is a heliocentric idea. Thats old now. The motion is more like two balls spinning around each other. The fact being sun is so much bigger and hence moves so much slower that we cannot perceive its motion. The center of mass of our solar system is not the sun or even inside the sun but we may say it is very close to the sun and all planets revolve around that point the sun included.
If god made the Sun go still with respect to other earth it would not mean much but if He made earth stationary as you wrote it would have been sweet dreams for all life buddy.

How is such a phenomenon possible? “Is anything too extraordinary for Jehovah,” the Creator of the heavens and the earth? (Genesis 18:14) If he chooses to, Jehovah can manipulate the movement of the earth so that the sun and the moon would seem motionless to an earthly observer. Or he can let the movement of the earth and the moon remain undisturbed while refracting the rays from the sun and the moon in such a way that the light from these two luminaries continues to shine. Whatever the case, “no day has proved to be like that one” in human history.—Joshua 10:14.

Of course. If they actually knew that it was the Earth moving around the sun they would have indeed said "Earth stand thou still". They obviously believed it was the sun revolving around them. You would think writers of a book "inspired" by a god would know the truth.

Reading the question though to the end.
I find myself say by Jupiter, he's got a point!
Yes If assume that the discourse was relative to the planet and there is little logic to say that it it's as everything as is Terra-centric, then yes!
Oh, yes!
Wow
Full marks that man!
Thanks, truly your question has revealed it's self to be a great answer.
But I fear that some if not many will find ways to deny this, as other did with the solar centric model even in the face of facts.
You can lead a horse to water, but if is stubborn enough to die of thirst.
What can you do.

The only religion based on science, that I know, is Hinduism.
Try reading Vedic Physics.
It will blow your mind.
Even established Hindus can not comprehend it.
This is due to their lack of knowledge of modern science.
I mean at least a Ph. D. in Material Science.
Oh yes, you also need a thorough understanding of Vedic scriptures.
Original Vedic scriptures written in Sanskrit.

Joshua didn't know what to ask for, but God, in his mercy, gave Joshua what he really wanted even though Joshua didn't ask God to move the right thing.
God still does the same thing for us: giving us what we need instead of what we ask for.

I wouldn't consider it absolute proof, but it is indicative. I'd say possible, highly probable. This goes also to Galileo and what happened to him.
On astronomy, I also find the Three Kings, Sirius, and Virgo compelling :-)

where is your proof that the sun doesn't move? If the universe is always expanding, then everything in it is moving.
