holy communion is when you are at a christian church and the priest, minister, or pastor turns bread and whine into the blood and body of jesus. Then everyone goes up and kneels at the alter, or stands and waits in a line to recieve it, and eat it. You can only do this after you are already 7 or 8 yrs. old.

roflmao.. look at the stupid answers so far. Unbelievable.

In the bible Jesus passed out bread while saying the words "this is my body" and he passed out wine while saying the words "this is my blood". So the Catholics take "Holy Communion" where the Priest says holy words over them, makes the sign of the cross, and gives them a wafer of bread (it melts in the mouth, no bitey. Biting it is considered... well... rude), and a bit of wine to drink as "Jesus' body and blood".

THAT is Holy Communion. Its actually ritual cannibalism but with bread and wine instead of flesh and blood. Its quite insane.

Holy Communion is receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in the form of bread and wine. It is more or less derived from the Last Supper that Jesus had with his apostles before he was imprisoned and crucified.

A waste of time. Symbolically eating the flesh and drinking the blood of a Jewish zombie and telepathically telling him you accept him as your savior to forgive you for your many times great grand parents eating an apple. Most ridiculous thing ever.

It is ceremonially accepting Jesus. Reminiscent of the Last Supper!

It is a church sacrement outlined in all liturgical practices of the particular church. It is a celebration that Jesus lived and represents the resurrection of the soul.
