What should the cold tire pressure be for a 2006 Corolla? I have Goodyear Integrity tires. On the tires it says the maximum pressure is 44 psi. How close to 44 psi should I be maintaining the cold tire pressure?

First, you should look inside your glove box or on the driver's side door jam. There you'll find the proper cold psi. However, in 2006 the Corolla CE, LE, & S said it should be 30 PSI front and rear...the XRS said it should be 32 PSI front and rear.

There is a sticker on the door jamb, and information in the owners manual.

Always measure tire pressure cold, in the morning, in the shade (even a ½ hour in the sun will increase tire pressures by 3 or 4 psi compared to tires on the other side in the shade), not after a driving.

The higher the tire pressure, staying below the maximum:
* the better the fuel economy
* the longer the tire life
* the better the handling
* the worse the ride.

I would run 36 psi in the tires on your car. If the ride is okay, I might increase it to 40 psi. If the ride is too rough, drop it to 32 psi.

The number you are reading is for the tires max. tire pressure not for normal tire comfort. If you have a truck and a load on those tires then you want a bit more air pressure and not to exceed that max.
The normal tire pressure on your tires should be maintained at 32 psi. Run the car for about 10 min. then have your tire pressure set at 32 psi. A cold reading is not as accurate as a warm tire pressure.
