My PC is connected to an HDTV37" LCD (PIXEL XT Premium).
It can change resolution to 1920X1080 but the font looks bad.
How can I know the actual number of pixels? (Don’t have the manual and can't find the manufacturer

Addin some details.
my graphics card is geforce 7900 gs.
the computer is a desktop and it is connected using a DVI(computer side) to VGA(LCD).

37" TVs are rarely 1080p. Most probably it is a 720p TV, but without the specs, it is just a guess.

Your LCD television has a native resolution of 1366x768.

This is not a standard computer resolution, you will have to set it as a custom resolution through the Video adapter settings.

Keep in mind that there will be some overscan (The very edges of the screen will not show) due to the difference between LCD TV resolutions and computer resolutions.

Yes most of the time you won't be able to use the same resolution if the PC can't handle it. Most max out at 1280x1024. In your case it might be max out at 1024x768.

Are you using a laptop or desktop? If a desktop you can replace the video card for one that supports HD resolutions, but they will cost more though..

It could be the video card not being able to support that resolution.
