Here is the recipe from BYO magazines 150 clone brews:

5.0 lbs English 2 Row Pale Malt
2.5 lbs. Flaked Barley
1.0 lb. Roasted Barley
12 AAU Kent Goldings 60 min.
1084 Irish Ale
Mash at 151 degrees for 60 minutes
If you are an extract brewer you can substitute the 5 lbs of English 2 row for 4.3 lbs of liquid malt extract. You will still have to steep the flaked barley and roasted barley for 1 hour at about 155 degrees.
Once the beer has fermented, pour off a pint into a glass let it sit at room temp for a week. Make sure to put a wet cloth over the top to keep any bugs and nasties out. Then boil that pint for about 5 minutes cool and then add back to the beer. This will give the beer the slightly sour taste that Guinness has.
Of course if you want the famous Guinness head and creaminess you'll need a nitrogen tap system.
Hope this helps. austinhomebrew.com has a kit for Guinness Extra Stout, but not the regular.

While the question is surely not a stupid one but why in ....do you think Guinness would make a home kit? They are internationally known and renowned - famous - the recipe is secret and only very few know what it is. There is nothing quite like a Guinness with a good head. Is there? in the meantime, please pass the sausage rolls! or perhaps a pie?

No, but you can find very similar recipes. If you can only brew using kits, then you want a dry stout. If you can do the whole boiling a wort thing, then you can use the clone recipes which should be a little bit better than the kits.

I haven't been able to track down a Guinness home brew kit but I did find one similar. It is called 'Muntons Gold Imperial Stout' which to all intents and purposes is the same. Check out their website.......

Specifically for Guiness, probably not, but you can find stout beer brewing kits. Check out midwestsupplies.com. They are a supplier of home brewers and have good quality kits.

The owners of homebrew shop Maltose Express (http://www.maltose.com) wrote the books Clone Brews and Beer Captured, each with 150 cloned recipes, including Guiness Stout. They make prepackaged kits of all their recipes and do mail order.

i haven't seen them about but you can do almost anything now days, try google if it seems like hard work i would recommend the beer or ale bags, you just fill them with water leave for a month and you have eighty pints to keep you going. there are also some home schnapps kits which you just add water and sugar and leave for a month, you then have your own rocket fuel. let the games begin. good luck mate
