Yes it does because when factories are making products such as plastic and stuff, their factories are emitting greenhouse gasses. So, by recycling, you are decreasing the need for those factories to even make more stuff. As for you trying to recycle, you should take that up with city officials, like by writing a letter or something. Its worth a try!

Yeah it does because the more organic matter than is composted will affect the garbage that is in the land fills.
You see these get really hot in the land fill and eventually they will start to decompose and release carbon dioxide and other chemical that are in the green house gas catagory.
So the landfills give out massive amounts. And if you can put all of your oranic matter in to a composter or a pile then it will help the enviroment because it is not rotting along in a land fill. Several studies have shown that the landfills produce 3 times the emissions that a small composting unit will use with the same amount of material.

making aluminum cans from raw materials requires 7 times the energy of making cans from recycled material. wonder if those yale and northwestern studies allowed that, yes, driving materials around burns energy, but no more than driving that same material around to the landfill. recycling uses a lot of energy, but saves more. Wiz, the miniscule effects of human activity times 6 billion can add up. there was no air or chemical pollution 250 years ago. how 'bout now? now there's no place left untouched by some form of pollution.

Yes and converses energy as well. Takes less fuel and raw materials to make products out of recycled material.
Yes and converses environment as well since there isn't a lot of trash all over the place.
Good place to start is contact city hall and find out where they have recycling centers set up.

Call your local waste management office and ask. Return your bottles and cans to the store where you bought them. Separate your paper from your trash...lots of organizations have paper drives.

Not at all. Since it is a practice done by humans it will have a miniscule effect, just as every other human activity does.

not quite because when we recycle some thing like metal, we melt it first thus resulting in combustion of smoke. smoke contributes to GW.

yes because instead of using and making more plastics when you recycle they don't use as much plastic and go to your local garbage dump
