Do you mean statistics such as blood pressure and heart beat?/ If you do they are vital because they tell your health and how likely you are to get certain illnesses or to recover when you are ill.

they not,it is just an expression,as in vital statistics,for those who care to know,if they meeting a new date or doing some clothes shopping

"vital" means of or related to life. So they are statistics about birth, death, gender, age and so forth. They are not "vital" is the sense of being "essential".
