I don't know that he "supports" having gay priests as much as he is trying to keep the church from dividing over the issue. Still, a Bible believing Christian who is in a position of leadership should stand firm on what the Bible clearly teaches and not be a compromiser for the sake of worldly gains.

1 Timothy 3:2 It is necessary, therefore, for a bishop to be irreproachable, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, well-behaved, hospitable, skillful at teaching; 3 not given to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not loving money; 4 one ruling his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence; 5 (for if one does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a new convert, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same judgment as the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not being given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience.

10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being irreproachable. 11 Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children well, and their own houses.

Anyone, whether he be a local pastor, a deacon, an archbishop or the Pope should either stand by what God's Word teaches or step down.

I am sure there have been gay priests before, and the world didn't come to an end! He may not like the idea of wise men..the bible never gives the number three. The archbishop is a human and entitled to his beliefs. I don't agree with him, about the magi, but he like every other human has a right to his beliefs and opinions.

The Archbishop of Canterbury is packed with s**t and Dr Williams is a loudmouth t**t. anybody chooses the country ,the place they like the subculture, the criminal equipment, the social shape , to stay and quiet down. to no longer pick a rustic with no longer something they like yet attempt to alter it. i think for you British people, I joined the one hundred,000 and now stay in France. somebody right here stated interior 5 years the united kingdom would be an Islamic usa and 3 years for France. I assure you this would possibly not take place in France. There are extra Muslims in France then interior the united kingdom. French people have a distinctive mentality than the Brits and the French government purely cope with anybody because of the fact the comparable, no precedence for Muslim. I don't have something against Muslims purely right here they stay like anybody, they could declare earnings for under one spouse, their toddlers at the instant are not allowed to positioned on head scarves to attend college. So if something like what you stated happens right here, a revolution from the French people would be on it way. The French do no longer communicate, they act. besides, i do no longer think of it fairly is going to come to that cuz it fairly is fairly out of order.

To be a Christian you have to believe in the sacrifice of Christ to save mankind, after this one event, which has profound implications for a Christian, everything else should pale into insignificance. Its a bit like making an omelette without any eggs or as the bible succinctly puts it, building a house on sandy ground. After this one belief all the other things are about interpretation which is usually based on your bible translation, personal feelings and the beliefs of those who you learn from. I wouldn't dream of asking if the Archbishop is christian and i hope he wouldn't ask the same about me.

First of all, it does not matter what he, I, or anyone else says...........What does GOD say? Anyone old enough to read can find that answer.........I do not know if he is "really" a Christian, but we are to take each other on faith. One does not always have to be right to be a Christian. Some Christians are easily influenced by the world around them and get off course..............

The Bible does say that wise men came to see Jesus, as an infant. It does not specifically say three..........I expect that number derived from the gifts reported.

Think of a modern day baby shower. If I write that my infant niece, received: powder, diaper cream, and cash. Will you assume there were only three people present? Will you assume that each person brought only one gift? Will you assume no gifts were duplicated? Will you assume the list is conclusive?

Only three gifts were recorded and we drew our conclusions......

This simply supports the fact that Catholic teachings are not Bible-based. The Bible is ultra-clear on how God feels about homosexuality. Anyone who disagrees is simply looking for justifications. If a high ranking member of that church can openly say such unscriptural things and not be excommunicated, then you gotta start asking some hard questions.

Well I think he is a realist and undestands the early requirements of fables to instill a view of morality on society,so now recognises that much of the bible is purely mythical,it isn't even original at that, changed names and places and used it in the bible....and approving of gays...wow who would of thought that in the 21st century...seeing how so many of the clergy are infact gay themselves...resign ,stay on it makes little difference to the people in the UK....we prefer the pub and a lie in on a sunday morning...

He should resign if he thinks the Bible is a legend. As for whether he is a Christian, well.... I guess God can be the judge of that.

Like a lot of people who attend the anglican church, he's probably an agnostic who only goes for the social side of church.
