Not all. Many more 'liberal' Christians do not believe in the virgin birth or even the resurrection. They believe it's Jesus' teachings that are important. (I am not Christian myself, but I believe that too!)

Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. The word for virgin in Greek can also be translated "young woman", but it is implied that the young woman is not sexually active. Adjectives or some other contextual marker stating such would be added if this were the case. At any rate, we know that Joseph had not slept with her prior to their marriage.
Also, in a prophecy about the birth of Jesus from Isaiah 7:14, it specifically states that a virgin (almah in Hebrew, with no ambiguity about sexual status) would conceive. "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call his name Immanuel." Immanuel literally means 'God is with us'. Granted this was written about 700 years before the birth of Jesus, I'd say this is pretty amazing stuff.
Also, there is another passage (Isiaiah 9:) that talks about -where- the Messiah would be born. "in earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He shall make it glorious, by way of the sea, on the other side of the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles. The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them...For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace."
This means that God himself would be given as a child to a virgin in the land of Zebulun and Naphtali, which the Gentiles call Galilee. Both Bethlehem and Nazareth (Jesus birthplace and "hometown") are in Galilee.
Anyway, it all adds up and there is much much more. But these are specifically about His birth. So yes, I believe it. I don't even have to blindly believe it. I do believe it without having seen it myself, but I believe there is enough evidence for me to believe it.
Anyway, I hope this helps explain why some of us silly Christians believe this stuff.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. ^_^

All Bible believing Christians have faith that God supernaturally impregnated Mary by his Holy Spirit. I don't see what the big deal is. If God can create life, if Jesus can walk on water and raise the dead, then why couldn't God the source of life cause a woman to become pregnant without the help of a man?

Do you believe that a 90 year old women can give birth? That happened with Sarah when she had Isaac. God gives life where no life is possible.
Yes, Mary was a virgin.

It doesnt matter anyhow.
Mary was virgin when she conceived Jesus. But that doesnt mean that she was still virgin when she gave birth to Jesus.
You can have sex with a pregnat woman, cant you? Joseph would indeed keep Mary if he would find a stain even if she was pregnant.

Yes, she was a virgin when Jesus was born, but then she had several other children later with Joseph. She was not a virgin after the birth of Jesus.
In Greek it means
virgin parqe/nov G4221 virgin (male and female), one who has never engaged in sexual relations

Those that studied the biology of human reproduction and Occam's razor know that she had an intense and pleasurable moment with Gabriel, a splendid young stud teenager full of hormones. She got pregnant and Joseph, a good guy, decided to raise the child as his own.
400 years later, during a marketing meeting called the council of Nicea organized by a pagan Roman emperor who wanted to promote a specific religion, it was decided that the father of the kid was god...

Certainly not all Christians. I know my Dad for example is a Methodist, very liberal Christian and he does not accept the virgin birth - again from an original text translation of "young woman".
