i want to start on January 1 and end may 17. i need to lose about 2 pounds a week

you can lose more than that up to a pound a day if you try the lemonade diet. you can go to webmd.com and do a search there for the lemonade diet and see how it works.

a brief description: this diet is mainly used to clean out your body and flush out waste and toxins by just drinking liquids and no solid food for a period of time. the useful side effect of course is that you loose weight up to a pound or more a day because of it!

Drink lots of Water. Oatmeal for Breakfast. A salad with little or no dressing. Lots of fruits and veggies for lunch and dinner. Baked not fried foods. Nuts, in moderation. Lean Protein. Egg whites. Baked or Grilled Salmon and Tuna. Work out at least 30 minutes a day, Cardio. Do Weight Lifting every other day.

Eat healthier, exercise. If you don't get results right away, don't be tempted to crash diet. That will throw you off schedule, and will add pounds to your weight in the end.

jog for 15 min a night, eat steamed veggies/meat, salads etc
and do 100 crunches, push ups a day

going out for a jog will make you lose pounds pretty fast, depending on how long you jog for

cut out junk food, sweets, and don't eat much carbs or sugar.
