Turn the claim into your insurance company. Give the boy the name, phone number and claim number. Tell him to contact the adjuster about his damages.
If the insurance company denies his claim (for anything other than lack of coverage) - then it is not your problem and you do not owe him out of pocket.
If the kid does not have a drivers license - he is probably not the owner of the car. The registered owner of the car is the one the insurance company will pay. Something is not right here - the kids up to something.
The best thing to do is to stay in contact with the adjuster. Let him/her know what is going on and that they kid is calling you. Most likely your adjuster will tell you the same thing I have.
Do not pay him any cash. Talk to your adjuster.

This gentleman may be a scam artist, or ignorant, or both.
Your options include
* Get enough info from him so you can call your Insurance company and find out what was the disposition of the accident case. It may be that the police ruled the accident was not your Dad's fault, so you don't owe the other party a dime, or it may be that the insurance company did pay the claim, and this gentleman is claiming something in excess of what is reasonable.
* Tell the gentleman that you intend to ignore his please because you believe him to be a crook, and if he continues to pester you, you will report him to the Attorney General of the state because you believe that what he is doing is illegal.
* Tell the gentleman what you know of the law and insurance in such cases, which includes the fact that you do not owe him a dime, unless he can prove that he has expenses incurred because it was your Dad's fault, and that your Dad's insurance did not pay those expenses.
You really need to talk with your insurance company about this because you have no idea what they already paid him, if he failed to document the expenses properly, if your Dad's insurance was inadequate to the situation, what the police report said.

Even though it was you dads fault.
The driver of the other car was also at fault. Driving without a lic and without insurance.
The reason the guy is calling he wants his car fixed because his own insurance will not cover him.
Turn the claim over to you insurance company and phone number this party is calling you from.

It depends on what state you're in. A very few states have "no pay no play" rules, where if you are unlicensed or uninsured, you can't collect from the other guy, even if they cause the accident.
If your insurance won't pay for his losses, that means YOU ARE NOT LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO PAY HIM.
Don't pay him. Don't talk to him. Hang up the phone, and file harassment charges against him if he keeps calling. LET YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY HANDLE THIS COMPLETELY.

If he was out there without a license and no insurance, anything that happens is his fault, which is why your insurance is not paying him. If he hadn't been there, the accident would not have happened, and without what he needed to drive, he should not have been there.
Tell him you have no intention of paying him cash, and let your insurance company know what he is doing. Also tell him if he continues to bother you you will consider it harassment and report it to the police.

I would file a harrassment complaint against this young man. Possibly, a restraining order. Tell the little s**t that your insurance company handles these matters, yet, if he would like to get an attorney, go ahead. I would suggest that an attorney be consulted by you. But, don't pay him a damn thing!!

I agree with MBRCATZ1... your insurance company will NOT decline paying the claim if legal ramification exist. But that should not stop you from informing the claims people and law enforcement about the calls. Desperate people do desperate things.

Best bet is to talk to your insurance company. If I was making the call, the kid wouldn't get a dime. He would get a citation, and have his car taken, as well.

DO NOT PAY HIM!!! Contact your insurance company and let them handle it. If they wont pay, theres a reason. since hes calling trying to get money, its probably a good one too! in order for him to get money from your POCKET he would have to take you to court, and if the insurance isn't paying, i doubt you would have to either.

my guess is.. your dad will end up paying because.. 1- it was his fault, 2- he has insurance, 3- the responsible person always gets screwed, letting the screwed up person off the hook, 4- lesson being life isn't fair... sorry, my answer may not be what you wanted to hear but I tell it like I see it
