Just wondering which style of karate, given the following choices only, would you prefer to study: Shotokan, Isshinryu, or Goju Ryu, and why?

Thanks in advance.

To Sirvive: Obviously this is to be more art, and not for real fighting. That's why I do MMA in Tampa Bay (GJJ, MT, Sub). I was just wondering, and did not necessarily intend to start training in any of the arts in the question I asked.

Out of the choices you give, I would study Isshinryu. I teach Matsumura Seito Shorin-ryu and Isshinryu is about the closest to what I do. But that is just my preference. They are all good styles.

I teach Goju Ryu.

I would like to learn Motobu Ryu Udundi,

Uechi Ryu - the early, original kata only(don't ask me why);

Matsumura Seito,

Matsubayashi Ryu,

Yamanni-Chinen Ryu Kobujutsu,

Kingai Ryu/Matayoshi Kobujutsu.

All the above mentioned have subtle differences that give them distinct applications and aesthetic beauty.

If I can find it, To'on Ryu - develped by Juhatsu Kiyoda, dojo brother of Maegusuku Chojun(Miyagi) under Kanryo Higaonna.

I'm no hemingway. Periodic sentences are my forte. I'm working on cutting them down, though. (hence the totally choppy running sentences above, void of any commas or suspense) Writing really is a peek into someones mind. English teachers must know so many things about how their students think just from what information they prioritize to be first in each and every little sentence.

All of these are good.
I think "Isshinryu" would be something to look into.
Isshinryu competitors always gave me a good run for my money at tournaments back in the day.
