I'm trying to get onto IM.... and I don't know how. Where do you have to go? Do you buy it or something?

it all depends what type of IM your looking for

Yahoo Messenger
MSN Messenger
and all you do is go on the site and look for download

There's Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and AOL. They're all free, you just have to download them.

go to "yahoo" then to "messenger" then download it. it's as easy as that! no money is required. =)
