Because something that doesn't exist can't do anything.

It's not a question of what an omnipotent God can or can't do. He can do anything, truly. It's a question of His perfect will and plan, and what He does or doesn't do. Why doesn't He banish all evil? The most obvious answer is that it is not part of His plan. The fact that you don't understand His plan doesn't mean it's wrong. God can't be; He is perfectly holy. If you don't understand what He's doing and why He's doing it, it means your understanding needs to grow.

There will be a time when God will banish all evil from the world. It will all be thrown together in the lake of fire. He's said that, and He always keeps His Word.

For the time being (however long He chooses to make it) however, we need to deal with evil in the world. We need to consciously choose to follow God and His way, even if He doesn't do things the way we think we would if we were God. You've just got to trust that He really does know best, even when you don't see it.

God could banish all evil, he has chosen not to. If there were no evil, why would he give us free will. The bible tells us Satan is roaming the earth, but God has only allowed him a certain amount of power. This is why he works the way he does, through people that have power, such as church and world leaders. We need to be careful and not mix him up with the demons roaming the earth that are under his authority. At the end of time his full power will be unleashed.

Because then he'd have to banish us as well

for the evil things we have done whether or not we were aware they were evil at the time

God sent down his son, as one of his children had took a building hostage

However the hostage taker killed the son who was the negotiater

so now, God is going to send in the swat team, but before he does that, he wants to rescue all his hostages

then he will banish the wicked, and give the builiding back to those people who were under hostage

peace in Christ

Maybe because that's part of our responsibility as co-creators with Him.

I suspect that God banishes or at least prevents more evil things from happening that we will ever know about.

But He created us to be His children. All loving parents want their children to grow and mature and become strong and "leave childish ways behind." As God's children we have challenges to face and obstacles to surmount. Evil in the world is one of them.

We are faced with preventing the evil that we do by misusing our free will and also to heal the wounds caused by other evils like disease and natural disasters.

To answer your question: God COULD just banish all evil things, but part of that job falls to us as His children.

Did you ever hear the developmental psychology saying that "taking away all challenges and hardships in a child's life is the worse kind of child abuse a parent can do"?

Because he is not prejudiced.

If God were to just banish evil then he would have to banish us all.

Everything has to run its course, whether for good or for evil, and at the end of the day, God will be justified.

It just isn't that simple. Imagine a life in which you have nothing to challenge you, a body without a soul. Evils are there for us to fight against. If life was perfect it would become boring. In such a case, I like to believe that God is testing us.

It is only our limited material conseption that causes us to think in terms of good and bad. All things come from God. Everything is designed for our ultimate benefit. In the eternal scheme of things, no one really dies - the soul is eternal. We may suffer in this body because of our past deeds but this is not because God wants us to be suffering. It is because he is trying to guide us back home to be with Him because He loves us very much - like a parent disciplining his child.

He Will..... YOU... just have to Wait..... till..... Then!

(Revelation 20:10-to-15) And the Devil who deceived them was cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet were . And he will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

(Rev 20:11) And I saw a great white throne, and Him sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And a place was not found for them.

(Rev 20:12) And I saw the dead, the small and the great, stand before God. And books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

(Rev 20:13) And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead in them. And each one of them was judged according to their works.

(Rev 20:14) And death and hell were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.

(Rev 20:15) And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire.

Thanks for Asking ! RR
