trisigima 337, I agree that it is no harm in knowing the truth. I think it is hypocracy to teach your kids about a false Santa when the bible says thou shalt not lie or have any false God's before me. We know Christ was NOT born on Christmas, and this holiday is simply about commercialism, so go shopping until you're broke, over-eat, and complain to whomever will listen afterwards! (ha-ha)

I hope this doesn't offend anyone...but when I was a little my mother told me about santa and that he brings gifts etc...
But my dilemma was why she trusted this white man being she really didn't trust white people. So I started to question the whole thing.

Today I'm a Christian who works with children-I tell them to ask their parents. It's not for me to corrupt someone elses kid.

I didn't want a santa to get credit for the gifts I bought my own children, so I told them the truth. Santa is just to add fun (supposedly) to Christmas--but we can have a fun Christmas without pretending a santa worked hard to give all these gifts.

I worked hard to give these gifts.

Some people are very right....Santa is a symbol of the magic of Christmas:) Thats all....and I think the night that Jesus was brought to the Earth, that was a very magical and special time also... It is just a story for Kids.

You are right. I was weak and caved. When I found out about Santa at the age of 7 I was Mad as H*ll. I felt like a fool and couldn't understand why my parents would lie to me.

When I mentioned to others I wasn't going to tell my daughter about Santa I was ridiculed. AND I actually didn't tell her-others did at school. BUT I never did correct them.
I have told her recently he's just pretend and she didn't seem to want to listen.

But you are right-a lie is a lie is a lie.

It's sad, but this question will probably receive more negative than positive responses, mainly because people hate to admit that they're wrong and they don't want to change man's traditions.

Santa is in your heart--and the spirit of Christmas.
When you stop believing , He stops coming to see you,..........

It is a fantasy--like Bugs Bunny and Harry P,..., and Alice in Wonderland, ---you are a jack ***.
