wiht the ps3 blue ray player will it work with standard tv's? how does that work?

Yes it will work, you won't be able to see it in high definition though. The PS3 out of the box is set to 480i (standard definition) and gives you the regular video (yellow) and audio cables (red & white). Just plug them in as you always would have. If you have a HDTV, then buy a HDMI cord to plug from the PS3 to the TV. After that, go to the settings and setting the resolution that fits the TV. For example, if you bought a 720p TV, then select 720p output on your PS3. But, yes, the PS3 still works on a standard TV.

I've heard that it does work, but then I've heard of people not being able to. Also the official Blu-ray website says you must have a HDTV to play Blu-ray. Either way there's no point of getting blu-ray unless your gonna watch it in HD.

The blu ray won't work with standard tvs, my cuz has a ps3, and it didn't come well. we moved to a tv with hd, and it worked perfectly.
