Sharing a house with a couple and two little kids. Lovely children but they can be lippy at times. One of them tends to spit in my direction as well.
Tell her "don't do that" and she laughs in my face.
Wishing to follow the parent's cue, I asked dad how he deals with her rudeness. " I just love them" he said. No help there. Does anyone know of any books?
The problem is not disciplining kids. I'd know what to do with my own.
It's OTHER people's kids with all the authority/boundaries and mixed -message-to -the-child-problems that could raise.

You need to talk to these kids' parents and tell them that they need to discipline their kids or YOU will start spanking and parenting them. Then proceed to do so.
The next time that kid spits, you say "no spitting" and then slap his little face.

Try looking into the books by Dr. T. Berry Brazelton.

I don't know who owns the house, but you need to either get a quorum on the house rules or someone needs to get gone!

I rather like the saying "treat others as you'd want to be treated" so when that little troll spits on you...take one up through your sinuses and let her *** have it!! I guarantee she'll get tired of you returning her nasty little favors. And if that's not particularly your style the more mature approach would definately be to confront her parents and not hold back on how you feel about the situation. Even though it may not be your home the fact remains that you still reside there and there should still be respect for all.

Have u ever heard of the word Conflict. Find a book on Conflict. That is what you're going to have if you discipline another person's kids. Although, people tell u it's o.k. They don't mean it. Deal with the parents and if they don't correct them, then dismiss yourself from their surroundings.

If this is your house, they need to find somewhere else to live, if it's theirs you and your children need to find somewhere else. Think about it, if you are looking for ways to discipline someone else's child, you are looking for trouble that you don't need.
