I am a follower of Christ and I will admit, I think His Kingdom is like a dictatorship, there is free will and self expression, but at the end of the day...it's His way or no way.
It's interesting though, if you don't mind me stating, the Scriptures often call His followers "slaves," but the Greek is Doulos, it is more literally a "bond-servant" or "one who gives himself up to another's will," a slave by free will, a person choosing....to be a slave, not forced.

I see a couple of people saying communist, but I really think He was more of a socialist. A social liberal, help those most in need. Also, there is the parable of the field, the owner hires some workers in the morning, some more after lunch then more late in the afternoon. They all receive the same wage for the day. All will be gifted by Him equally, regardless of when or how they recieve Him, as long as they receive him.

"Christ was a communist of the strictest sort, and so am I and of the most extreme kind..."--Victoria Woodhull, who ran for president in 1872.
Okay, probably a liberal, as he spoke out against the religious establishment, cared for the poor and the ill, and spoke out against draconian punishment. Remember, he allegedly stopped a group of people from stoning an adulteress. He hung out with the lepers and the outcasts and if he were around today would probably be hanging out with the HIV-positive, the drag queens, and other outcasts. Didn't he also say, Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and render unto god that which is god's? Unlike many of today's conservatives, one could read into that quote his belief of a pay-your-fair-share system of taxes.
And unlike many conservatives today, he loathed moneychangers, the ones who made you pay to pray, and no doubt would hate this idea of buying your salvation from a huckster.

I think that Jesus was a person who had no idea that a religion would be made after him. He seemed very open minded in his day, so I would say a liberal.

Certainly at least the early Christians were very liberal - almost communistic in their values system....
"All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need" - Acts 2:44-45
As to Jesus Christ Himself - I think He was more of a social revolutionary, a radical raging against the religious hypocrisy of his time. If you think about it, that's pretty much how He got Himself killed!

He was Liberal. He spoke up against the church and taught basic principals of living. If he was conservative he would have never become as famous as he did.

A liberal. He spoke for the voiceless, cared for the masses and fed the poor so they wouldn't do without.
He also believed in peace.
