It seems that most people are misreading the question! The way I read it is that you physically lost your drivers license, and are not able to find where it is located! You want to know if you can carry a copy of your old permit while you drive, and what would happen if you were to be pulled over without your license physically in your possession. You have a valid legal license, you just can not find the card itself!

If you get pulled over while driving, you can show the officer your copy, and he can run your license number to be sure it is valid! The worst thing that could happen is you would get a ticket for not having the license in your possession, and if you were to go to court with your replacement license and dated receipt, there is a 99% chance that charges would be dismissed!

Drive carefully and you should have no problems!!!

You would more than likely get a ticket, but you would probably beat it in court. If the arresting police officer has access to the active drivers license files on his computer, he might be able to verify your license as being active. If so, he might give you a pass.

First the cops is not going to pull you over for "no reason", just follow the rules I sure you will be okay, but if you do get pulled over just explain the problem, they can use your name or address to find you in the system.
You can also call your insurance company or agent they also have your licence number.

You are fighting a losing battle with the cops....all police cars now are equipped with a computer screen where they punch in your license no. and it brings up everything about you except your shoe size!!! It will reveal any crimes you have been convicted of, any warrants out, unpaid tickets, etc. and most cops would rather cuff you and stuff you than let you go.......if your license was suspended it will show on the screen from any state......you would be SOL........it aint worth it.

they'll run your permit, find that you are driving on a suspended license, take you to jail, and you'll have to pay a stiff fine. More points on your already suspended license. You know if you get enough points they can take your license for ever!

No, that permit isn't going to get you off the hook. But likely, you won't get more than a ticket if you get caught, just bring SOME form of id, library card, passport, credit card, something.

And most DMV's are open on the 24th and the 26th. Check your dates.

You will go to jail, and rightfully so. You lost that license for a good reason, I suggest you wise up, obviously you haven't and don't deserve the privilege of driving--it is NOT a right.
