Here's an easy way to fast cook a meal, one pan...and NOT a storebought microwave dish with tons of sodium....
Using a LARGE frying pan with a lid, start with a box of Rice a Roni (even generic brands are fine) by the directions, 'brown' the rice first-I put in couple teaspoons of margerine AND 1/4 cup of water for the browning-when that is done, add the water called for in the recipe and set to simmer-low low heat. Add 1/2 or more cup of frozen or fresh vegetables-corn, peas, beans...and then1 of these:
chicken- slice boneless breasts in half and split, 1# will feed 3-4 people if they don't stuff themselves
pork-boneless roast-slice it 1/2- 3/4" thick and lay on top
pork chops-thick ones, lay up to 4 on top of the rice mix
I sprinkle parsley and/or Mrs. Dash spice on top of the meat, as soon as I put it in, then flip and spice the other side. You can also sprinkle garlic powder but don't go too heavy.
Then put the lid down, make sure the heat is down low so the mixture isn't boiling-just making steam...and it will take 15-20 minutes. Check the meat at 12 minutes or so-if pink in the middle but not 'red juice' the pork is done-the chicken is done when 'white' in the middle.
Add a couple 'heat and serve' rolls and you have a meal.
I've been doing this for years and my wife and kids love it.
I stock 3-4 different 'flavors' of the Rice A Roni packages in the cupboard and just add whatever veggies I have already open in the freezer and whatever meat caught my eye at the deli next door. About $7 and you can feed 4 people.

This is really quick, and easy. I cannot guarentee that it is healthy, though. : ) It's called "Mexi-Mac" First, brown a pound of hamburger. While this is browning, you will want to boil some water for the macaroni. I use Velveta shells and cheese (but I use the "light" version). Once the hamburger is browned (drain it, obviously), stir in the (drained) macaroni shells. Pour the packet of cheese over the hamburger/noodle mixture and stir well. Afterwards, you will want to pour in a large bottle of salsa (I use the large size bottle of Picante Hot) over the hamburger/noodles/cheese. Turn your heat to medium low and let warm for about 5 minutes. This makes a TON of food. It's great if you are making dinner for a family, or if you want to save some money and take it for lunch for a few days. It's actually just as great tasting the second and third day! Good luck! : )
