"All of these answers are wrong, With the exception of "Charles C" he almost hit it on the head. "In Like Flint" is a saying from a 1966 character played by James Coburn, as "Agent Derek Flint". And yes he always had the following of beautiful ladies, all the secret agent gadgets, and saved the world from evil doers in 2 movies before flopping. They were more funny than "James Bond" like movies. The first was titled "Our Man Flint" in 66 and the second "In Like Flint" in 67, both Directed by Sam Peckinpah. He did two more "Similar" movies, But not as "Flint" one was "Duffy" and the other "The Presidents Analyst" which was absolutely hilarious! But anyways, People started saying "Man your in like flint" in the late 60's early 70's the same as the term "Man you've got it made in the shade". So that's where that came from and what it's about. Just an old term to say you have it made. If you have never seen "The Presidents Analyst" it is a definite "Must-See" even though it's a 60's movie, I swear it's one of the funniest movies i have ever seen. he plays the presidents psychologist in it, you just have to see it. It a good oldie for sure. anyways, hope this answered your question! Take Care and God-Bless to You and Yours. 1st. Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam 67-70

These guys are wrong. This goes much farther back to when, arrow tips and spears were made of, ta da: flint, the actual mineral. When you got shot by a flint tipped arrow, you were really shot, dead. The flint was literally 'in' you.
Flint had a much higher penetration depth than wooden arrows.
Errol Flynn? Give me a break !

It's actually "in like Flynn" and it refers to Errol Flynn who was a movie star back in the 40's. He was very handsome and could get any woman he wanted so the expression refers to having success with women.

In like Flint and Our Man Flint are movie titles. James Bond spoofs according to some people, better in my opinion.
He was always surrounded by beautiful women and had more gadgets than Bond.

Example: You were worried about getting into a club with fake ID. You get there and they barely look at the ID and you walk right in. You were in like flint. I guess it means, easy.
