Cute, I too didn't understand ethernet until my step son wanted to go wireless with his XBOX. So basically it allows him to go to XBOX on line without the use of cables connected to the computer.

Hope this helps!

Ok read your update, they sell little TV screens that you can connect to PS2. You might want to try toys r us, or a video game boutique store like gamestop.com or EBgames.com

Ethernet refers to the cable that gives you high speed internet access. The ends look like a phone plug but it's much wider.

Wi-Fi is when you can get on the internet without using any cables connecting the PC/PS3/PS2/etc. to the cable modem or router.

You cannot play the PS2 without a TV or some sort of screen, such as a portable PS2 screen.

I think your husband is referring to the PSP(PlayStation Portable). The PSP is Sony's portable system. It has a tiny screen, and if he gets the slim PSP, he can connect the PSP to the TV so that he can play his PSP on the TV.

I remember there was a small LCD screen you could attach to the PS2 and use instead of a TV. I haven't seen any around for a while, but then i've not really looked.
As for the PSP, that is a handheld console that has it's own games created for it and wont play PS2 games.

a ethernet cable is the cable that connects the ps2/ps3 to a computer router so you can play online.
