I lot of people don't use a trainer, but a trainer would show you how to use the equipment properly and would show you what you could do to deal with your problem the best.

Well first I hate personal trainers because they often look as good or some cases worse than the clients they are training. I know some great ones but they are a few and far between. They put you through a crapy workout that will see minimal results and for what $60 dollars per hour. But if you swear by them. Now to your question. I would build in cheat meals so that you will stay sane while changing your lifestyle. Have a cheat meal once a day. It will take the pressure off. Slowly ween off of the cheat meal every day and push it back to once a week. Then go to now cheat meals after a certain time. It makes the transition from one lifestyle to the new and healthier lifestyle much simplier. So just go do some research on your own on what foods to eat and you will be fine.

I had a trainer and he was probably the best thing about my gym experience. He taught me exactly everything to know about the equipment and how to do the exercises. Without him, I probably would not have had half as good a workout experience. Trainers all the way!

Epic, you could get most of the information you need on line, I think that a personal trainer is great if you can afford one.
If you exercise on a regular basis and drink plenty of water you should lose the weight, but also remember that sometimes the exercise will increase the body's appetite so I suggest that you do a protein supplemental program that will give you the micro and macro nutrients that you need.I personally use Herbal products, Here is the website

If you don't know too much about the right way to use the equipment and to keep your body in proper position, then consider a few sessions with a trainer. That way, you won't injure yourself
