I know this is a gross question but honestly I don't know why I got sick from eating raw cookie dough.I have never gotten sick from eating raw dough, but last night I made some and snacked on it as I was baking cookies and hours later I was in for a terrible surprise. Stomach cramps, diarrhea, this went on for hours. I wasn't running a fever or at least I didn;t think I was. I never vomited either. So I don't think I got salmonella poisoning. What happened? Has this ever happened to you?

It is possible to contract Salminella(sp?) from eating raw cookie dough because it contains raw eggs. However, the odds of it are astronomical. Probably nothing to worry about if symptoms have ceased.

Well there's raw eggs in cookie dough and that will make you sick and trust me on this you don't want food poisoning. It's the worst. I had it when i was nine. Though i was going to die. The cramps get really bad and i couldn't move off of the couch for anything. You need to see a doctor if the symptoms persist, Good luck and God bless.

well this never happened to me bcuz i eat cookie dough ice cream and just cookie dough but anyway it may be because something you put init your stomach didnt need or wasnt used to it. Another reason is because if you put dish detergient in the bowl that you made the dough in you may not have got it all out and soapy things that go inside your body gives you the need to use the bathroom. So you may had just got a stomach virus or food poisoning

Your symptoms nearly exactly matched those from the 2009 E. coli outbreak in raw cookie dough.
People just don't listen.

this has never happened to me because i dont like cookie cough, but my mom always tells me not to eat it anyway because they contain raw eggs which = bad tummy pains. You will be fine, but don't do it again. :) good luck hun

If any of the components of the aformentioned "cookie dough"
were "off" then you could get any number of illness' from it.

Simple, the food was contaminated with a fungus mold similar to pickles, and pickled foods. Some are not reactive to it, kinda like an allergy.
