Happiness is something that only you can give to yourself. The path to happiness, is first and foremost...acceptance's of who you are. Once you can except yourself, then you can truly begin to love yourself, trust yourself, and actually have a good time with yourself. Second, one must slowly begin to cut the bonds of negativism from their life. That's right. Many people feed of Negativity, it's like eating, or drinking, even sex, to some. Avoid these people. You will find that once you are truly friends with yourself, that life will become a little brighter.

It must start from faith in God and finding God within yourself, but just looking within is not enough. After finding God within you true happiness is found in your relationships with others, how you express your love to others - in your family, with your friends, the stranger you meet on the street. Without some kind of community true happiness is impossible.

Never let a minute lie there on the self, for there may be in it all of life itself!
"What appears to be coming at you, is coming from you."
A Buddhist monk walks up to a hot dog vendor and says
"Make me one with everything" and hands him a $20 bill.
After receiving the slavered bun, the monk stands there a long time waiting and finally the vendor says
"Change must come from within!"

I think you need to find that yourself.
Start with nature. Nature can make anyone feel happy. The four seasons here in New England make me happy.
Spring~ blossoms
Summer~days at the beach or pool
Fall~ foliage
Winter~snows

Matthew 5:1-12 - "When he saw the crowds he went up into the mountain; and after he sat down his disciples came to him; 2 and he opened his mouth and began teaching them, saying:
3 “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.
4 “Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted.
5 “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.
6 “Happy are those hungering and thirsting for righteousness, since they will be filled.
7 “Happy are the merciful, since they will be shown mercy.
8 “Happy are the pure in heart, since they will see God.
9 “Happy are the peaceable, since they will be called ‘sons of God.’
10 “Happy are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.
11 “Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake. 12 Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to YOU.

True happiness can be found if you don't believe in a god, but believe in yourself. It's only then that you can know what your possibilities are.
