I am planning to get accepted into the psychology dept. at my college and the required min. gpa is 2.75, but I have a 2.72. I am in the middle of my junior year. Do you think this is enough time to raise it by 0.03 points in one semester?

A 3.0 average for next semester will probably do it. (I'm basing that estimate on the assumption that you need 120 credits to graduate, have just completed 75, and will take 15 more next semester.)

If you fall ever so slightly short, go to the chairman of the psychology department and beg. Point out that your grades in courses even remotely related to your intended major are above average (although it's hard to think of any course that couldn't be consdered related in some way to psychology!), and emphasize how interested you are and how much you want to go into a psychology-related field of work. Good luck!

I have heard that colleges like nothing more than a student who has found redemption. If you show that you can pull all A's from here on out, they'd probably be happy to have you even if you were a fraction off. Good luck! Blow'em away in the interview!
