I was an athlete in college at a Div 1 school. We got in wicked amounts of trouble for falling asleep in classes so we came up with all kinds of things to help us stay awake after long, cold rows in the morning.
1) take a cereal with you to class (something small like rice crispys or cheerios) and eat them one by one.
2) take a tiny sip of water every minute or so. it keeps you doing something.
3) take a pencil and put the eraser on the desk and hold your hand on the tip. when you start to relax too much or start to fall asleep, your hand will relax and you will jab yourself hard. this one kept me awake through MANY long chemistry/biology lectures.
4) sit up front because it's easier to be involved in what is going on when you're close up and it will most likely keep you awake.
Good luck!

I think the best way is to be awake as long as you can stay health as it is. But we were given nights to sleep and rest to refreshen our body. And be ready for the next day. Got it?
