It takes only one person to effect change. One prayer, meditation, contemplation, or thought can affect the powers that exist in the universe. But, always remember that ONE act of kindness is worth a thousand prayers. I don't remember who said it, and that quote is paraphrased, but it gets the point across.

We were given the inspired inclination to trust God. God gave it to us. And so no matter what is going on, or what is prayed for, we ought to trust God.

Trust = Faith

Prayer is an act of Faith.
We trust God will hear our prayers, and our action is an outward sign that we are trusting Him.

As the Hebrew letter reads:
Hebrews 11
39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.
40 God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

So with expectation we pray. Our display to Him is noted, and the circumstance is therefore considered in His capable hands. Whether we see His work immediately or not we trust Him to fulfill His promises:

2 Corinthians 5:7
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

ONE Person can make all the difference- there are many revivals over the course of history, that began with one person praying, and that one person inspired others to join them.

James 5:16 (b)
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Just one fervent, righteous person and the Lord.

However it wouldn't hurt if all did it!!!

Anyone can walk closer with the Lord our God in prayer. He listens to us all, but the Bible tells us that if 2 or more ask it in His name with a believing heart, that he will answer. He tells us to pray continually every day given thanks for all that He does for us. Giving Him all the praise and the glory. But not too do so in a boastful way. He says to pray in our closets, for that which is heard in privacy will be be answered for all to see. He ask us to pray in a certain manner.
1. Giving thanks to him 2. Asking that it be His will that is done, not our own 3.Asking for what our needs are with boldness as if the prayer has already been answered 4.Confessing our sins and asking for forgiveness 5. Asking Him for the strength to fight the temptations that Satan places in front of us .5. Give Him all the praise and glory His righteous name deserves 6. Asking all in the name of Jesus Christ our savior. Amen

If TWO of you AGREE, as touching ANYTHING in prayer, it SHALL be done !!!

Prayer is the most POWERFUL tool a Christian has...

I have confidence He hears me, and if I know He hears me, then I KNOW I have the petition .

Talk about a multi-part question! I hope you will ask each question separately, or perhaps group them in 2s or 3s. The answer to 1, 2, and 3 is nowhere. 4. Jesus expected Christians to learn from tradition, i.e., that which is "handed down." He gave an example of learning from unwritten Hebrew traditions. St. Paul and others teach us to learn from traditions, too. For example, 1 Cor 11:2: "I am proud of you, because you always remember me and obey the teachings I gave you." 2 Thess 2:15: "My friends, that's why you must remain faithful and follow closely what we taught you in person and by our letters." The early Christians had no Bibles and very few written documents. They depended on oral teaching, i.e., Christian traditions relayed from Jesus (who only taught orally) through the disciples. The big danger of sola scriptura is that in practice, it translates "the Bible means whatever I want it to mean." Recently we have seen mainline Protestant denominations turn the scriptures on the heads to declare abortion and homosexuality good. Jesus provided a safeguard to prevent such self-serving interpretations: the Church. He gave the Church great authority (see Matt 16:18-19) to prevent the willful and false interpretations that tickle the ears of people today. Cheers, Bruce
