Well, despite the fact that PS3 is gaining points in the console war (245% sales increase), PS2 is still the best selling console. According to www.ign.com the last PS2 game will be released in 2009. There is a new version of PS2 coming out to the world market soon (it's already out in Japan).

Well some people cant afford a PS3 and the PS2 is going down in price as we speak so i would say it should keep on the market but not for much longer.

As long as the game developers keep making games for that console AND the people of the buying public keep buying them; then YES, the ps2 should still be a viable format for the next couple years.
