I love Jesus because He first loved me, and died on the cross for me, and He then rose again.
The only way to be saved and go to heaven and not eternal hell is by believing that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Well I must first say I'm a christian too. But back on our topic, I think that people can't understand and can't explain some thinks so they need something or someone to 'blame' for everything that's going on. It's basically in our nature to believe in something. It is all deep in our culture. And everything the church does is not something to be blamed for because the people are the ones who make the church.
PS I hope I didn't offend anyone with this comment of mine....

People love Jesus cause they think He was ever born and He was God's son and somehow He died on the cross to save them????? Something that no one exactly knows what it means but it sounds compelling and soooooo sweet.
People love Jesus cause He and His so-called neverending been drilled into their brains all the way from birth, and now there's nothing that looks more rational to do, than love Him back. It feels good to love, tho' even an imaginary friend. It feels safe to be on the omnipotent's behalf. For Jesus' father is a V.I.P.

THe greatest sacrifice on earth was to give your life for people you dont even know.Who said God supports these things you mentioned? Through my christian lifetime I have come to realize that God lets things happen as the tings you mentioned so we can learn...by the way i dont support but Ipray that these things will stop.Christianity is not a form of brainwashing it a source of healing and strength.

Because He died to pay the penalty for MY sins (crimes against God), then proved it by rising from the dead the morning of the third day, so that God could adopt me into His Forever Family.
Your overgeneralizations and presumptuous attitudes can NEVER result in an accurate conclusion.
It's not the Jesus followers who are killing and bombing, but the muslem followers who are doing these things.

I do not support the current war begun with a series of lies by the morally bankrupt and detestable president Bush. His 30% approval rating indicates that many others do not support HIS war either.
He uses God when it is politically expedient and conveinent. He told the world that "God told him to invade Iraq" before the invasion, which may be considered Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. He attributed great evil to God with his statement.
I love Jesus because he is the Prince of Peace, not war, and because he shed his blood at Calvary for all humanity which chooses to believe in his name.

Jesus ISN't the one doing the bombing & killings-MAN IS!
For us who have been Born Again, by being washed in the Blood of Jesus, how could we NOT love Him for redeeming us?

I think people love jesus because their religion told them too, or their friend. I don't see how they can truly love someone they've never met and don't know. It isn't love, it's and idea that they love.
