There is a movie called Smash Machine which is based on a UFC fighter. Within that movie it shows drug use (injections) and it appears UFC doesn't care about the health and wellbeing of its fighters.

This is disgusting... so do they even do any blood or drug testing to protect the fighters? can fighters compete if they are HIV positive?

MMA appears to be more or less the same... if Brock Lesnar can compete in MMA then steroid use is legal.

The reason I say untalented is simply because they need their painkillers, growth hormones and steroids to compete.

Feel free to defend my comments in a constructive way... right now neither of them deserve to be mainstream until the sport becomes cleaner.

I intentionally chose not to do any research as it is quicker to get discover facts from responses.

I have put 2 strong cases forward. Brock Lesnar has benefited from performance enhancing drugs much the same as Bobby Lashley (WWE) and is now competing in MMA and has an advantage with his chemically enhanced physique. He can be clean now but the fact is he still is chemically enhanced.

What I am conveying here is every entrant in MMA & UFC have used drugs in the past to aid their performances or build their strength up to give them confidence to compete. Not all of them have used anabolic substances... but I'm quite certain they used other things to aid their performances like stimulants, things to reduce competition nerves and painkillers of course

from the responses here it seems painkillers seem to be legal to take within both federations. UFC & MMA compared to every other professional sport is the least clean.

Go professional boxing! and I know WWE is drugged up.

Smashing machine was from a different era back when the UFC was just a barbaric exhibition and rules were minimal. Mark Kerr probably wouldn't succeed now since he was a one-sided fighter who basically won most of his fights thanks to brute strength, wrestling ability and roid rage. Since then the UFC has new ownership that has set out to create a new image of what MMA is and turn it into an honest to goodness sport. The fighters are screened for drugs and when they are found to have possibly used steroids, they are suspended. I'm sure some of the guys take some painkillers, but if they do, they are prescribed. And how do you know if Brock Lesnar takes steroids? Did you know he was the NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion and was huge even then while under NCAA restrictions? You need to get a more up to date depiction of the UFC if you are going to comment on it.

Yes and in Smokey and the Bandit they crash 287 cars but that does not mean it all is real. You can not judge everyone by a movie and there are some fighters that have been banned or suspended for drug use or testing positive for drugs and had their purses withheld. Not every fighter falls into this category and I think you have to remember that MMA is a relatively new sport. If you read about the early history of boxing back in the late 1800s and early 1900s it was by no means as nice or clean as it is now. Pain killers are needed sometimes because of the number of injuries and you literally can't sleep and that is in almost any sport where contact exists. Are there competitors out there that use drugs to gain an advantage-Yes; but that does not mean every fighter does and the UFC knows they have a good thing going. They are not going to risk it for some group of fighters that abuse drugs and can't pass a drug test. The states have already started to step in now and have said they must use the state recognized and qualified referees instead of there own UFC ones and administer drug tests just as they do in boxing and made several other changes and modifications to the rules. To judge every fighter based on a movie is like watching Smokey and the Bandit and then figuring you can go out and drive that way and survive and not kill anyone else.

I have not seen the movie Smash Machine yet. I would like to state that, I don't think tha there is a sport that exist were the competitors are not trying to be the best in their game. Even if it means with with drug use. It's sad to say but true.

I don't condone drug use in anyway. I do think that MMA has more talent than professional wrestling and professional boxing combined. And a lot less drug use that's for sure.
Just look at the size of fighters in the WWF compared to the UFC. Now you tell me who has been on the juice?

As far as having fighters that have HIV. Me personally... I don't think that if a fighter had the HIV, that they would want to compete at that level. It is truly a grueling sport.

The MMA is here to stay like it or not. I think you probably prefer watching professional wrestling anyway or golf.

My question to you is have you ever competed in a combat sport of any kind? I don't think you have. You are like all these guys that say America should go fight in this war and that war. But you never had the balls to join the military. So until you can walk the walk... don't criticize!

Dude, do you know anything about the UFC? Because from your comments its obvious you don't. The UFC does random drug testing, and all championship matches are drug tested. The lightweight champ just got stripped of his title due to testing positive.Other fighters have been suspended, and other titles have been stripped from Champions in the past. The UFC is very harsh to fighters that test positive for any drug. If you bothered to do some actual research instead of making off the wall statement then you would see that. As for your comment about Brock Lesner. Lets not forget that he was an Olympic wrestler before going to professional wrestling. He stated that he went to pro wrestling because of the money. After making his money he left and went into MMA. He'll be tested when he fights in the UFC just like any other fighter.

Next time try doing some actual research on an issue, rather then watching a movie, and taking that as fact.

You intentionally chose not to do research because you think that you get facts from random answers? No, I think you intentionally chose not to do research because you are lazy and ignorant.

I also think you mean "Feel free to refute my comments" not Defend my comments. Because I don't think anyone here agrees with you, so why would they defend you.

The UFC does do drug testing, there will always be steroid use in sports whether it be UFC, Fake wrestling, bicycling, or Boxing.

Your whole rant is based on a movie, other than that you know nothing of what you speak.

So judging by line of reasoning for this question, what's your take on Major League Baseball?

Apparently the MLB "doesn't care about the health and wellbeing of its fighters," is "full of untalented drugged up" players that "need their painkillers, growth hormones, and steroids to compete."

And since the actions of a few clearly represent an entire sport to you, please let me know what pro baseball team you'll be starting on next season as owners scramble to fill their entire rosters with "clean & talented" players.

Honest answer.Drugged up probably, most pro sports use performance enhancing drugs, pain killers, medications both illegal and legal in cases these days. UFC is certainly one of the worst since it has no random all season testing. The champs are tested for fights, and a certain percentage signed to fight, but no one else, ever.

Untalented?no.Talent is the natural ability and skills you have mixed with the skills you have developed.

A world champ in any sport may be an asshole, cheat or pain killer junkie but that is a matter of ethics and morals, not talent.

He is still training the same amount as anyone else whether he is on drugs or not, and is still a 'grandmaster' of his style.

The movie you saw was a documentary on Mark Kerr and the problems that he had in his life from the pain his body endured from competing and how he turned to drugs to ease that pain and how his wife was very instrumentive in his self destruction. Those drugs that you listed are in every MAJOR sport in the world. Every fighter that plans to step into the cage or ring has to undergo a battery of tests to make sure that they are 100% healthy and ready to compete.
