Hi, I am 18 years old. I am a major coffeeholic, and I drink at the minimum 4-5 cups of coffee a day. Whenever I don't drink a cup of coffee, I get a headache. I don't know why. I've heard others say they get a headache if they don't have a cup of coffee in the morning. Why would this happen? Is it unhealthy to drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day. Somtimes I drink more cups a day.

You're addicted to the caffiene not the coffee and same here I'm a caffiene addict only I can't stand coffee for some strange reason and I have been told it's unhealthy but I've been addicted to it for almost 2years and I can get through upto 4litres in Pepsi Max a day but I'm fine and very healthy.
Yeah be careful with withdrawal, caffiene is good for stopping headaches and used in alot of headache tablets and if you've been and the stuff for a while it can be very dangerous going cold turkey straight away.

You get a headache because you are going into caffeine withdrawal.

The debate on whether coffee is healthy or unhealthy is still on. What is not debateable is the fact that many people who drink too much coffee often have other bad diet habits that need to be corrected.

Because caffeine is an addiction. It's possible to get headaches from caffeine withdrawal. I'm a coffee lover myself. I wouldn't worry too much, although 4-5 cups is a bit much. You could have worse addictions. Like smoking. I'm still trying to kick that one.

Everything that is too much is not good for you. Although coffee is an antioxidant and has many good benefits, excessive intake of it could have a negative effect on you in the future. Try to lessen your intake gradually or find other beverage substitute that is beneficial to you health.=)

I don't drink coffee, but I have a thing for chocolate. I've always believed those studies that say chocolate is good for your heart and blood circulation. However, they warn you about binging, so I try not to do that.

It is unhealthy. The reason you get headaches is caffeine withdrawal. Ride it out for a few weeks and you´ll be fine.
