I am going to Russia - St Petersburg to Moscow Dec/Jan and need to know what clothes to bring. Obviously warm clothes, but would 'normal' UK winter clothes suffice? Is it better to have numerous layers or just one good jumper and good coat?
Thanks!

The weather can be as cold as -28 in January be warned. You certainly need a hat preferably fur, .good shoes.warm Jumpers and a good top coat.Uk clothes do not suffice I know I have been and at one point thought I was going to die with the extreme weather.Check the BBC world weather and that will give you some idea of the conditions.Good luck but never again for me.

The best thing besides the usual clothing is a pair of thermal boots that keep ya tootsies warm......get them from your nearest fishing tackle shop....they don,t come cheap but are worth every penny....not many people think about their feet....you will after a few days....it gets very cold out there.

I would go for many different layers to act as a better insulator and if you get too hot you can remove a layer. I would suggest a good hat and gloves though.
