Border jumpers mostly consist of Mexicans while overstaying aliens mostly consist of Filipinos, Chinese and other asian countries.
The funny thing about it is the overstay actually belive they are superior to Mexicans even though they are illegal also.

Your on to something here. No one has answered your point directly but yes. The illegal aliens border criminals and their supporters want to pump up the sympathy factor as much as possible. They want the image of being starving immigrants who need social programs.Not people who bought airplane tickets and are here for the free tax payer supported goodies they don't really need. Great Point.

It's not the same group... the Mojanos just swim the river, the overstays can afford to get a visa and pay for the plane trip.

jonatha the word is Mojados, which you know means wet..back,and sometimes the people who do actually meet the guidelines to obtain a visa are still turned downed every time they apply for the visa, so out of frustration most will give up on applying and just come over illegally, and then there are most that hear about the consulates turning people down more than they grant visas, so why waste time and money, they just come over. i don't think it is right that they come illegally, but at the same time i don't think it is right to judge or label them all as hard core criminals, if we don't know how they were living before, where they come from, are they morally upright, religious, are they really coming in to make a few bucks and then return, are they really coming just to have kids? your question is kinda of like " do trailer trash whites distance themselves from the wealthy whites, so that they can perpetuate the idea of the poor white guy who dates his sister".

Because they don't want to socialize with those who took the time out to obey the law. It's like the good folks vs. the bad. The educated against the uneducated.
