Truth is both a sweet and a bitter message. The truth hurts people that do not want to hear that they are wrong. Pride is to blame for that.

The TRUTH of Christ, can be uncomfortable- due to the fact that in order for us to receive the TRUTH that sets us free, we have to admit that we are sinners. It can be very hard to admit that we have done something that would send us to hell. But when we look at our lives through the eyes of Almighty God, then we can more readily admit that we are sinners and have fallen short of His glory. The wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Once we get past the discomfort of admitting that we cannot do anything to be set free, it does become easier. Great question, by the way= Merry Christmas

Sure, in many cases. "Truth hurts" and all that.
Usually if someone is trying to hide the truth from you, it is because your reaction to that truth is not going to be positive, whether you'll be mad or sad.

Sometimes, especially if you've found out that Santa isn't real or that there isn't a supreme being(s), it can be quite disconcerting.
